EU imposes definitive anti-dumping duties on headless screw imports from China

The European Commission has formally imposed definitive anti-dumping duties on imports of headless screws originating in the People’s Republic of China, announcing the decision in its Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/2153 of 22 October 2025, which was published in the Official Journal on 23 October 2025.

Following an investigation that confirmed Chinese exporters were selling these products into the EU market at unfairly low prices and thereby causing material injury to EU producers, the Commission decided to impose definitive anti-dumping duties ranging from 54.7 % to 72.3 %. The earlier provisional duties, introduced during the investigation phase, will now be definitively collected, and all registered imports of the subject screws will be subject to the new rates.

The regulation entered into force on 24 October 2025, ensuring that imports of the specified headless screws from China are immediately covered by the definitive regime. This measure is intended to restore fair competition in the EU fastening and hardware sector, which has been adversely affected by dumped imports. The decision reinforces the Commission’s commitment to tackling unfair trade practices and protecting European industry.

With the decision now in force, headless screw imports from China will remain subject to the definitive anti-dumping duties, reinforcing the EU’s stance on ensuring a level playing field for European manufacturers in the face of unfair pricing practices.
