Hyundai is poised to produce i20, one of its most significant models in Turkey with plans to use its production base in Turkey as launchpad for exports to Europe and the Middle East.
Hyundai i20 Mass Production Ceremony took place in Hyundai facility in İzmit, Turkey on August 28, in the presence of Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank and Investment Office President A. Burak Dağlıoğlu.
Minister Varank delivered a speech at the ceremony, emphasizing that cars produced in this factory will make up 50 percent of Hyundai’s i20 production worldwide. “90 percent of the cars will be exported abroad. By 2030, we plan to be the leaders in Europe and hopefully rank among the top 5 manufacturers in the world in terms of automated, connected, and electric (ACE) automotive technologies and shared mobility production,” Minister Varank added.
