Fuji Buhin Industries(Ota City, Gunma Prefecture) celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. The company has made a strong start in its "second founding period" while building core bases such as a new distribution center and a plastic molding and assembly center that is enhancing production and development capabilities.
This year, a working group was formed across departments, including the sales and purchasing divisions. The group is conducting research by purchasing samples of automotive parts in order to make proposals not only for individual products but for the entire assembly as a whole.
The newly established "Sales Development Department" is working on new business areas in anticipation of the transformation of the automotive industry in line with the shift to EVs. It also aims to develop products that are not restricted to its main sales destinations or automotive domains.
The largest project in the past 40 years is the renewal of the integrated mission-critical business system. The system, which will be completed by the end of this fiscal year, is a paperless system that spans all divisions of the company.
The next key to growth is strengthening the company's ability to develop plastic molded products. While positioning metal fasteners as its core product, the company has been strengthening its ability to develop plastic molded products as a neighboring field. In Japan, the company operates 14 horizontal injection molding machines ranging in capacity from 40 to 230 tons. The company plans to increase the number of injection molding machines to three units with a capacity of 350 t within this fiscal year.
CAD/CAM and CAE are utilized from design to manufacturing. The company has strengthened its integrated process from design to manufacturing, simulation, and feedback. The company will promote the development of metal/resin assemblies and other new materials, as well as the development of molded products that combine metal and resin.
