The British Economy Grew by 0.4% in the 2nd Quarter of The Year

The data released by the UK’s Office for National Statistics (ONS) on August 10 showed that the British economy grew by 0.4% in the second quarter of the year. The growth rate rising from 0.2% in the first quarter to 0.4%, stated to be the result of the increase in construction activities and retail sales due to the hot weather wave affecting the UK.

On the other hand, it was reported that the decline in manufacturing sector production continued in the same period due to the decrease in demand from PRC and the sector decreased by 0,9%, especially in automobile, aircraft, electronic goods and metal manufacturing and thus the foreign trade deficit of the UK increased.
