The English translation of the book by Toshimichi Fukuoka (Professor Emeritus at Kobe University) was published last November 1 by Elsevier. The book, entitled "The Mechanics of Threaded Fasteners and Bolted Joints for Engineering and Design," is 384 pages and retails for $200. The paper version or eBook can be purchased from Elsevier's website.

This book was published in Japan in 2015, and some content has been added in the English translation, including the new research findings. The book outlines how threaded fasteners and bolted joints fail, how these failures can be remedied, and ultimately how to avoid them altogether through tightening methods, material strength, and avoiding loosening.
